Brian Marsh
Pastor
brian@morelandpres.org
brian is a wanderer and a wonderer, a drummer and a dreamer, a percussive and paradoxical pastor who lives happily and hopefully at the intersection of doubt and faith. He began his spiritual and vocational odyssey working with students, which led to the even more surprising step of becoming a ‘Rev’ in the PC(USA), receiving his education to do so at Princeton Theological Seminary. Over 35 years, he has served faith communities in California (southern and northern), Missoula, Montana and for the past 9 years here at MPC in Portland, Oregon. He is a communicator by calling and gifting (speaking and writing), as well as a listener and fellow traveler (spiritual direction and counseling). He delights in helping people honestly engage and embrace the realities of life & death, despair & hope, fear & Love, and discovering the Divine in the mundane, the Extraordinary in the ordinary. He enjoys journeying through it all with his family (Kirsten, Ian and Trevor), exploring the incredible creative and culinary diversity of Portland (especially live music, craft beer/wine, independent film/theatre/art), drumming decently, surfing poorly, running semi-consistently, and laughing frequently and deeply at the beautiful absurdities and ecstasies of life with other fellow Beloveds -
